I'm Back!

It was a short, but incredibly relaxing few days at the beach. I have returned refreshed, and am ready to catch up on everyone's posts that I missed out on. I especially have to check up on Gint-A-Cuffs, and see the results of everyone's breaks.

My birthday was awesome, and it only got better as the day went along. Right around sunset I took my girlfriend for a walk on the beach, where I "popped the question". She immediately and without hesitation said "yes", which is amazing. It does make me question her mental stability just a little bit, but regardless, we are engaged. I guess this means that I'll probably have to spend a little less on cards, and start saving for a wedding. It's a small price to pay to spend the rest of my life with the most incredible woman on earth.

How incredible is she you ask? Well.... the first thing she did after I proposed, and she said yes, was walk me over to the card shop and buy me 2 packs of Allen & Ginter's. If that's not an incredible woman, I challenge you to show me one. One of those packs had a B.J. Upton jersey relic in it, which is pretty cool. He is on my fantasy team, and has been tearing it up a bit as of late.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you our official engagement photo, so here it is:
We got back this afternoon, and the mailbox was overflowing with cards, which is always a good thing. My third box of Allen & Ginter's also arrived, and will probably be busted tomorrow, if not tonight. To really top things off, while I was away I also managed to win an eBay auction for what will be the first cut signature I've ever had the pleasure of owning. It's not from one of the major brands, but it is of a Hall of Famer, and including shipping ended up costing me a few cents over $10, which is amazing!

We also managed to catch the last inning of the All-Star game at a bar last night. How 'bout that Adam Jones? I know it was just a sac fly, but it was on a pretty large stage, and hopefully gains him some recognition from baseball fans outside of the Baltimore area. The kid is a star in the making.

For the next few days this is a work-free blog zone, so expect a few posts, especially once I get caught up on all the happenings that passed me by over the past few days.

  12. Well done, sir. Well done.

    (mushy) Words of advice:

Marriage is not a 50-50 proposition. You both need to give 100%.

    (un-mushy) Words of encouragement:
The little lady needs to grow a beard.
