Joe Collector's Group Break Booty

As usual, I Am Joe Collector held another monthly break, and as per usual, I participated. This time, along with the monthly team break, where I have the Orioles, there was also a 2007 Upper Deck Exquisite Rookies case break. I didn't do so well in the Exquisite break, but someone was nice enough to trade with me, and I ended up with a card I've wanted for quite a while now.

First up are the results of the team break. This month it was 3 boxes of 2009 Upper Deck Icons, and 2 boxes of 2009 Topps Finest. In addition to the cards I scanned, there were a whole lot of other base cards, mainly of Markakis and Roberts.

2009 Upper Deck Anniversary Eddie Murray
I'm sort of tired of these cards, but in showing it am able to once again draw attention to Eddie's awesome mutton chops.

2009 Topps Finest Nick Markakis blue refractor #321/399
Not sure if I have this one already or not. I know there's a green refractor around here somewhere, but not sure about blue. If not, major score, if so, major trade bait!

2009 Topps Finest Nick Markakis refractor

Don't you wish all refractors scanned this well? There's a chance I might have this card as well. Damn, now I'm going to have to look.

I ended up trading both of the cards I landed in the Exquisite case break to the host, I Am Joe Collector, in exchange for this beaut:

2007 Upper Deck Exquisite Nick Markakis/Josh Hamilton Dual Signatures #14/25
It's true, I love this card. I don't even mind that I had to give up 2 cards to get it. The 2 cards were of some scrub types anyway. Upper Deck loves to put scrub autos in high end baseball products.

Thanks for the group break I Am Joe Collector. Can't wait to see what I end up with next month!

  1. You definitely have a point on that. High end products are ridiculous I'd have to say. Sweet card though, like both of those guys a lot. Great cards!

  2. Love that Markakis/Hamilton--I have the Granderson/Hamilton version of that card and it is one of my favorites for sure. Also, this years finest cards are just fantastic looking, they have the right amount of refractivity and a great design. Nice loot from the break (I'm just crossing my fingers that the Tigers spot opens up at some point)

  3. Are the exquisite autos on stickers? Either way too expensive to not just buy or trade for your players/teams, but the group break was a great idea too, will get in on one of those eventually...

  4. I knew I should have gotten into that break! I thought about it and thought about it, but couldn't pull the trigger based on the timing.

I'm glad the card found a good home.

  6. If anyone is concerned about timing i.e. pay day etc, I can always work something out.
