I Need To Stop Buying So Many Cards!

So I can save money to go HERE and buy more cards!

The National is coming to Baltimore, and to be honest, it could have chosen a better year to be in my hometown. With a wedding, honeymoon, and potential home purchase on the horizon, it's going to take hard work and dedication to save as much money as possible between now and August 4th.

There are a TON of former Orioles signing, including Frank Robinson, and Eddie Murray. There isn't an Eddie autograph in my collection as of yet, so he will be the top signer on my want list.

Willie Mays is going to be there too!

There's no way I can miss out on being in the center of The Hobby universe. Especially when the universe is revolving around Baltimore. Only 200 days to go!

That's it... I'm adding a countdown in the sidebar. Hopefully it'll serve as a reminder for me to start saving up.

  1. The Nationals are always awesome. My boys and I have been to 3 of them in Cleveland.

  2. Oh man I'd love to go to that show. I haven't been to a card show in 7 years.

  3. I will say the one and only one I went to in Chicago back in 92 or 93 was awesome.

  6. Unfortunately the National doesn't come to towns in the middle of Washington with populations nearing but not quite at 1,500 (plus or minus 300). Not yet at least. It's a good problem for you to have.

  7. I have been waiting to go to a Nation since 1986, and it finally came to me! (I am in Baltimore also) Ok, here is my double super secret saving for National plan, it might work for you...I have $55 per paycheck sent to a savings account via direct deposit. This savings account is in a bank in which the closest branch is in DC, I do not have a debt card for it, and I never set up internet access. This way I cannot touch it and I am forced to save the $$$! Thankfully my employer allows direct deposit to more than one account!

  8. I think I just might have to head on down for that. The closest that I've come to a National is the All-Star Fan Fest when the All-Star Game was slumming it in Fenway Park. (If MLB knew what they were doing, they'd ignore the low number of seats and bring the game back to the most historic park in baseball.) I made the trek to Baltimore a little over 4 years ago for the Baltimore Comicon and we had a great time there.
