This Mark Teixeira "relic" card came from my last box break of A&G. I've never had the pleasure of pulling a patch card before, and thought that was what I had at first glance. There are no patch cards in Allen & Ginter, and the number on the back of this card is that of a standard jersey relic, AGR-MT. As you can see, it's a nice little swatch, 3 colors included and what looks like the number 50. My question is what part of the Braves jersey is this from? I've got a bunch of A&G jersey relics, and the rest all have boring old single color swatches.
Let's take a closer look:
Upon closer inspection, we can see that there is a blue swatch, a red swatch, and a cracked white strip in the middle with some sort of text on it and a gray stitch. There's certainly a lot going on here.
This might be one of the cooler jersey cards I've ever pulled. What a shame that it's of a player who's name defies the "i" before "e" rule, and a player who let's his wife decide where he should play baseball (yes, we're still a little bitter in Baltimore).
If anyone can identify what part of the Braves uniform this is from, please share, because I am baffled. Wristband? Jockstrap? Garter? I have no clue.

Booooo!
ReplyDeleteIt also looks like it has little pinholes along the top of the numbers. Is the white part leathery? I have no idea what that might be from.
ReplyDeleteDoes it look like it might be a label off of A-Rod's steroid bottle or something?
BTW, who is this Summerbelle person and why is she booing you? That's just mean, man.
No, it's not leathery, more rubbery or plasticy.
ReplyDeleteSummerbelle is my girlfriend, and that boo was clearly for Mr. Teixeira, and his grammatically incorrect name.
